COU 6315 - Counseling Internship I 3 Credits
This course initiates the first of two required and consecutive supervised internship experiences in the student’s designated program area on-site and/or at a pre-approved offsite location. While gaining direct service experience with clients, students regularly meet with an approved site supervisor, faculty supervisor, and clinical director. Student counseling performance is evaluated throughout the internship. Students are required to complete a total of 600 clock hours of counseling and related services, 240 of which are direct client contact hours, over the entirety of the two consecutive internship experiences (Internship I and Internship II).
