FNP 6638 - Family Nurse Practitioner III


6 Credits

This course is the continuation of study of integrative management of commonly occurring acute and chronic conditions in primary health care settings. Special emphasis is given to prevention and wellness promotion in these populations. Diagnostic reasoning is further developed in terms of establishing differential diagnoses and suggesting treatments, not only evidence informed pharmacological but also non-pharmacological in nature. Clinical practice with the interprofessional team allows the student to demonstrate understanding of the complex nature of illness and wellness. This course requires 135 clock hours in clinical practicum in addition to didactic course expectations. 

Prerequisite(s): Student must take FNP-6534.
